In an effort to reduce the occurrence of agriculture-related injuries and fatalities among children, the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day® program was created in 1995. Progressive Agriculture Safety Days®, a program of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation (PAF), helps rural communities teach farm safety to local children ages 4 to 12. Gearing up for its 25th year, more than 1.6 million children and adults have been impacted helping the program be recognized as the largest rural safety and health education program for children in North America. PAF supports the communities that apply and are selected to participate in the program by training one to two volunteer coordinators per Safety Day providing them with in-depth manuals, vast resources and information needed to plan and conduct a Safety Day.
