Empathy. Empathy is the way to recognition, understand, and be self-aware of feelings and emotions in another. Some of said that having empathy might be the most important 21st-century career readiness skill today transcending leadership, culture, and innovation; but, as secondary agricultural educators, how do we present authentic learning opportunities to bring this to life for adolescents? Perhaps the global food, fiber, and natural resource systems provide a purposeful context for expanding this skill set. Come explore how global learning, either delivered domestically or through immersion experiences, can present opportunities for empathetic engagement.
